If at First You Don't Succeed

Believe it or not, life is full of second and even third chances. That's a good thing because not everything works as expected on its first attempt. Michael Feiz, M.D., F.A.C.S., is known nationally as a past master of lap band revision surgery. He has taken countless unsuccessful lap bands performed by other physicians and transformed them into powerful engines for permanent weight loss.

The good news for people whose first attempt at weight loss surgery was a disappointment in terms of results or resulted in complications is that the prognosis for gastric sleeve after lap band is outstanding. Dr. Feiz has performed many of these operations and he knows from experience that, in cases where a lap band procedure is insufficient, the gastric sleeve is, very frequently, extremely effective.

Indeed, one point for patients to consider as they weigh the relative pros and cons of lap band vs. gastric sleeve is that the latter operation actually produces results in two ways. As with the lap band, it drastically reduces the capacity of the stomach to hold food – but that's only the half of it.

The gastric sleeve operation also removes a portion of the stomach known as the fundus, which is thought to be primarily responsible for the production of hormone known as ghrelin. Ghrelin, in turn, appears to be responsible for stimulating our desire for food. The production of this hormone appears to be increased as obese people lose weight, and will make them feel almost physically hungry even when they know for a fact that they have consumed much more than enough food.

Dr. Feiz has watched countless patients bounce back from failed procedures with gastric sleeves that have produced outstanding results, allowing them to defeat the scourge of obesity once and for all. If you have had a failed bariatric procedure and want to give yourself a second chance, then contacting Dr. Feiz's office to inquire about a free seminar is perhaps your single best strategy.
